Make every conversation feel considered
Taalk brings context before a call, presence during it, and a useful record afterwards. The app helps people see who’s available, understand why someone is calling, plan a conversation, and pick up the next steps when it ends.
We’re looking for a frontend developer in Stockholm to help build that experience on Android or iOS. You can specialise in either platform; experience with both isn’t required. You’ll work closely with design and backend to turn product ideas into interfaces that feel natural on a phone, from a contact row to the moments before, during, and after a call.
What you’ll work on
- Build and refine contacts, availability, Waves, profiles, and call-planning flows in the app.
- Develop the calling interface, from incoming-call context and permissions to connecting, reconnecting, and ending a conversation.
- Make live transcripts, summaries, and action items easy to follow during and after a call.
- Keep the interface in sync with real-time data, handling interrupted connections, backgrounding, and returning to the app.
- Create reusable components with thoughtful gestures, transitions, accessibility, and support for different screen and text sizes.
- Improve responsiveness and test important journeys on real devices, working with our designer on the details people touch every day.
Our stack
Our iOS app is built with Swift and SwiftUI, with UIKit where needed. It connects to our GraphQL API and real-time services, and works with native calling, notification, and audio capabilities. Our companion web app uses React, Next.js, and TypeScript. We welcome Android developers working with Kotlin as well as iOS developers working with Swift. This role centres on mobile apps, with opportunities to help keep the experience consistent across the app and web.
What you’ll bring
- Experience shipping Android apps with Kotlin or iOS apps with Swift and SwiftUI. Strong experience in either platform is welcome.
- A solid understanding of app state, asynchronous work, navigation, and the mobile app lifecycle on your platform.
- Confidence integrating APIs and working with data that changes while someone is using the app.
- An eye for interaction details and the ability to turn designs into well-structured, maintainable components.
- Care for accessibility, performance, and clear loading, empty, and error states.
- A practical approach to debugging on devices, testing, and collaboration.
Experience with GraphQL, calling or audio interfaces, push notifications, or real-time applications is useful. React and TypeScript experience is a plus for work across the app and web. You don’t need to have used every part of our stack.
Apply
This role is based in Stockholm. Email jobs@taalk.app with your CV or LinkedIn profile and one or two apps or product experiences you’ve built. Google Play or App Store links, code, or a short walkthrough are welcome. Tell us what you owned and an interaction or technical problem you’re particularly proud of solving.
